I believe it will be Kris Dunn, playing like the McDonald's All America that he was a couple of short years ago. As the starting point guard---he will get everyone involved in the offense and will key the defense up top as well. Interested in hearing others views on this subject.

I think I would have to agree on the basis of the most "valuable" player aspect...he makes the defense better, he makes the offense flow. Dunn is also the biggest question mark we have going into this season. I would think Henton and Harris receive the most votes for this, along with Dunn. With Dunn being a question mark, its fair to say the 6th man of the year could easily be Junior Lomomba.

Henton is a leader and tough physically and mentally. He is a young man who has already accomplished a lot as a Friar.I think he will accomplish even more in his Senior season. In making my decision--it came down to Dunn and Henton.Dunn won out because I do believe he will be the straw that mixes the drink .

If healthy, I have to go with KD.
Henton is rock solid, but we have other similar players in the mix.
If we lose KD, it will be extremely tough to overcome the loss.
If we were to lose Henton, others could do an adequate job of filling his shoes.
KD will be the man this year, and we will go as far as he takes us.

I'm going to go with Dunn. I think he has the ability to make everyone around him better offensively and change the tempo of a game defensively. He is one of those rare guys who could dominate a game without scoring a point.

Even as I have already picked Henton as the Friar’s MVP for this coming season, much of that is predicated on a healthy Kris Dunn dishing and creating off his head’s up defensive skills to allow the undersized Henton to flourish. Both are solid transition/opportunistic type of players so that is my hope anyway.
I remember well the early season tourney game vs. Vandy down in the VI when we were down by 16 with 10 minutes to go. Then Dunn went crazy and we mounted that amazing comeback that had JR and JH going “Nutsy Fagan” on the radio…if that kind of spontaneity – fed by defensive stops/steals, etc. can emerge from from time to time from Kris Dunn; Henton will be there to benefit…
