Here we go again...
Season Ticket Fan Appreciation Night - Thursday September 11, 6 PM Slavin Lawn - no rain date as it would be moved inside if it is raining.
Last year BE Commish Val Ackerman was the "guest" - not sure if there will be any special guest(s) this year.
This is always a great time - and easy to crash as well (shhhh).
*
I say that even as some here have been quite critical of this 'event'. Some have said in the past that this annual 'event' is unacceptable - nothing more than an ass kissing NO-NO. The thinking seems to be based on a mind set that says no Friar fan should ever talk to any of the PC athletes - ever...and the FREE Pizza is simply a cop-out MO for the AD and staff to co-opt a true fan...oh well.
In addition to all the PC Coaches, the Men's Basketball Team, and the PC Hockey Team will be on hand. Our skating Friars are currently ranked #1 Hockey East Pre-Season; #10 Nationally.
Also the Lady Friars and other Friar athletes will be mixing it up and actually sitting down with the several hundred season ticket holders who attend ...gut-suckers all!

You give yourself way too much credit FF - everyone makes choices. Given the response from year's past, we can expect yet another large crowd of the, (ahem), Friar Faithful to be turning out once again this year.
Hopefully the weather cooperates and we will be back out on the lawn - it works very well with that set up allowing room to move around and catch up with many. In addition to meeting the 2014-15 hoopsters, I am hoping we can all hook up with the Hockey Team as we were able to do last year...

I'll be there as well!
Should be a most interesting season ... tough non-conference and the drama of newbies (and fitting in), Lindey's reputation ( if his mono has cleared up, I expect some help here), who leaves after this year, the health of Kris, can Junior and Bullock grab meaningful minutes and really help out, can we keep collapsing defenses honest with consistent 3-pt shooting ... lots of things to keep this board lively.
PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Won't be able to make it this year but last year it was a fine time, and it was wonderful to see the players themselves interacting with and sitting at tables amongst family, friends and pc friar fans. The players really seemed to enjoy it, as much as those supporters in attendance did.

Nice event, held outside as weather was good. (No pizza that I saw.) All players in attendance and looked tall, fit and athletic. Coaches spoke, Stu Jackson blown away by changes in campus. Eddie was Eddie. Crowd was very large and filled mostly by people. Friar spirit is, dare I say, at a near all time high when considering success of all the teams, the quality of current coaching staffs and the abundance of bright, shinny new facilities. John Rooke handled MC duties well and moments of silence were offered for 9/11 and #24.

Nice. Thanks for sharing Rock and 82.
Getting psyched about this team.
Would have been there tonight if I did not live 300 miles away.

This was a nice event with many Friar fans attending. Food was a nice buffet with chicken, pasta, desert etc. and a cash bar.
Is this a pep rally? Yes it certainly is. Players seemed glad to be there and mixed with the fans. Coach Cooley was, well, Coach Cooley.
Stu Jackson was great as was Coach Leaman.
Glad I went.

Can anyone share what Cooley had to say in his address as well as his on-air time with John Rooke?
Also, any news on what prevented Chukwu and Bentil from going abroad (NCAA Clearance and/or VISA)?

And the PC Women's Soccer team defeated Brown 1-0 on the field adjacent to this event last night. Good night in Friartown.

Also, any news on what prevented Chukwu and Bentil from going abroad (NCAA Clearance and/or VISA)?Kris Dunn said it was visa/passport issue that kept the 2 frosh big guys from going. (we sat with his Grandfather and he came over to the table to talk so some guys ot the guys grilled him). His shoulder is 100%. He is ready to go. Also our little group spoke with Sham. He said Dunn will be one of the top guards in the country this year. He thinks there are 5-6 members of this team who could be pros in the future. Talked to some of the hockey players. They are anxious to get started and looking forward to a good year. They know the out of league schedule is hard with lots of road games but ready for the challenge. 6 frosh coming in are good. No injuries heading into the year.
