I thought all along he would need to make this transition. Less speed and more spot up shooting required. I see Harris and Lindsey playing the 3. Lomomba backs up Buckets and Cartwright (or someone new) backs up Dunn. Bentil and Bullock at the 4 with Derosiers and Chukwu at the 5 spot. With Dunn and Henton also helping our rebounding, we'll be tough inside.
And Teddy backs up everyone!
Im my estimation, our success this year is dependant on KD being healthy. If so, he will drive our bus to another pretty good season.

Even last year, when PC was pressed,it was Henton helping Cotton bring it up,much more successfully than it was Fortune.
This staff was able to put together a BE Title club and an NCAA berth with only 6 players. They will find a way to maximize what these ten or so guys will do.Dunn's health will be top priority indeed.I agree with Thumper on that.

Fortune is a guard who can't pass. He single handedly lost two games because he couldn't pass the ball in from out of bounds. Out of necessity Cooley had to continue to play him after which he developed some confidence. This put him on a good path at Providence to possibly turn around his undependable game. I became one of his biggest supporters. All of a sudden he had established a nice foundation going into next year. Transferring out, he will find, was a big, big mistake.

The way this team runs an offense we will certainly see Henton on the perimeter. Having Henton, Bentil, Lindsey, Bullock, and Harris all able to contribute will make for a much more flexible lineup. I think if Cooley can get Chukwu and CD to become a tandem down low then it allows the five that I mentioned to push out and give whoever is running the point (Dunn, Lomomba, Cartwright) good offensive and defensive support.
Henton bringing the ball up would not SHOCK me...but it would make me think of Geoff McDermott bringing the ball up under Tim Welsh. Of course, I trust Henton more than McDermott...

Henton is likely working on 2G skills aiming at the next level. I am sure he'd like to beta test the transition in the coming year.

Was not the plan until Fortune left although Henton did bring the ball up some late last year so he would have played some 2 on offense as he did last year.

Boston....am glad YOU and Cooley hadn't put that in YOUR gameplan for next year until Fortune left...
thanks for info...:although I wonder just when it wzs that you and cooley sat down PRIOR to Fortune leaving and went over the plans...
You state things too emphatically as "an insider" for my taste, but glad to be PC fans.

Henton was bringing the ball up against other 4s....with minimal pressure....plus it takes our best rebounder away from the basket....while fortunes inbounds passing was maddening his taking the ball up for that 5 minute stretch against sju was equally as important as his shooting....

This is a very tall order IMO, and I have my doubts. Hopefully Cooley can figure out a way to make this work. Certainly no harm in giving it a shot.
I wish Josh Fortune the best in CO. It sounds like junior can replace him defensively, but I'm not sure about Henton in that role.
