I don't know much, but the first sentence in the article clearly states the reason originally was to be closer to home......
gotta love friartown...

Also near the Air Force Academy. Both parents are n/f Air Force. Could be part of "closer to home" strategy if his active mother has plans to be employed at the academy going forward. Father is retired with a landscaping business, which he can do anywhere.
Great fan atmosphere at those CU games, and a major conference in the PAC-12.

From kmac....which is comparable to the "not buying in...bigger program" speculation reported by the insiders here....you clowns have been dismissing kmac for years but he has the goods on fortune?..., sure....

It an arbitrary choice. He didn't leave thinking 'I want to go to the mile high city.' He should have traded down not up.
One of the things the stories point out are his career min's for such a young guy in the BE. They never mention Cooley had no alternative.
I hope his mother doesn't talk. She could probably be promted into saying almost anything.

Made zero sense when we found out about it, and makes even less sense now. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story. Good luck to him but I don't get it.

I also think that he bit off more than he could chew in terms of where he thought he would be a fit. I think KMac probably thought how many of us thought that Josh was homesick and wanted to be closer to home. I wish the young man luck but he is getting ready to go into a situation where his mistakes will not be tolerated the way they were here. He is going to have to fight for every minute he is going to get and frankly he could very easily become irrelevant.

Based upon those conditions, the kid had a golden opportunity in Providence...
1. Reputation developing Guards (guess he didn't notice how Cotton developed his game over the two years that they played together); 2. Guard oriented system (I'll have to watch a rerun or two from last season, as I could have sworn that everything started from our backcourt) 3. Ongoing need for perimeter scoring (ahem....)'
Not to mention, PLAYING TIME

I agree with walk. I think EC pushed Josh and rode him hard to improve and when the chips were finally all in Josh's hand he decided to cash in. I truly believe that if our backcourt depth was normal the last two seasons Josh plays 15-18 minutes a game, comes along nicely and finds himself being encouraged by EC, not pushed, and enters his junior year excited about his opportunity. The 35 mpg were way above Josh's skill level for most of his two years and that makes you grow up fast, too fast apparently in Josh's case. No crime in that, just is what it is.
