collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/05/12/report-gonzagas-gerard-coleman-to-transfer-for-senior-year/Gerard Coleman is on the move again. The former Providence guard will leave Gonzaga after playing for the Zags for one season, according to a report from Jim Meehan of the Spokesman-Review. Coleman averaged 13.2 points as a sophomore with the Friars, but after sitting out the 2012-2013 season as a redshirt, he could never find a way into the Gonzaga rotation as a junior. He averaged just 11.4 minutes, and while he showed flashes of being the kind of scorer that he was back east, a high-volume slasher just didn’t fit in with what Mark Few was trying to do with this group. Coleman will be eligible to play immediately wherever he ends up. What will be interesting to see is if this move happens to coincide with USC transfer Byron Wesley committing to play for the Zags. Wesley visited the Gonzaga campus this past weekend, and the Zags didn’t have a scholarship available for the 2014-2015 season until now.

Betcha Towson has already reached out.

I read that Northeastern was probably going to be in the mix. Towson would make sense too.
BC would probably be a good spot for him. Could probably log major minutes in a major conference.

Guessing he is now a Grad student transfer??
Always liked Coleman and thought it was too bad he transferred out. Also sorry for him that it did not work out at Gonzaga.
Thinking he might be looking to play locally at this point or as infoman said, maybe Towson?

Maybe he didn't graduate from Gonzaga so it is considered a transfer as opposed to a 5th year graduate move.

back to Smith St? No.
I was going to give GC props for graduating (not easy) in four years. They didn't mention summer sess. posibility so he's probably at least 18 credits short.
So the sick relative scenario in play again. Does the NCAA ever say 'sorry not sick enough.'

I'm thinking of posting sick relatives on ebay and getting in on the ground floor of this new and burgeoning industry.

I don't ever wish bad things for young people (or for any people really) but I hope the saga of Gerard Coleman serves to inform a lesson. When you trade 30+ minutes of playing time for greener pastures you are listening to the wrong people. What a shame. His departure hurt PC and it hurt him even more. Good luck at BU when you're 26. I apologize for the snarkiness; in truth I pray the kid gets what he's looking for in life. Lose/lose about to become lose/lose/settle.
