"Most likely headed for review by the Bylaws Committee. Suspect that a verbal is sufficient to cross the threshold from "Recruiting" to "Dave Gavitt Court" " All depends on what side of the bed a CORE Mod wakes up onYet, Ryan Fazekas verbal was not? Double standards and hypocrisy reign again. I was suspended from the board and issued an 80% warning level for posting the Fazekas verbal on Dave Gavitt Court. friartownhoops.proboards.com/thread/2840/breaking-newsYou got 80% for posting on the wrong board?

It's nice to see that we locked up a much needed PG. Now go back to swinging for the fences.

www.woonsocketcall.com/node/11048excerpt Thomas began getting bombarded upon word getting out that Cartwright was once again on the open market. “More and more attention was coming, but he didn’t want to go through that process again,” noted the Compton mentor. “He really liked Providence.” Just what kind of player is Cooley getting? For starters, Cartwright captained the Tarbabes as a senior. Rivals.com rates the Californian as a three-star recruit on a five-star scale. “I’m very athletic and feel that I make the right play first. I make the game easier for others,” said Cartwright. Thomas took a step further by saying, “He’s more of a distributor who’s very explosive. Is he going to dunk on you? No, but he’s very athletic and pushes the ball. He’s a pass-first point guard, but he can score.” Cartwright’s coach downplayed the notion of a born-and-bred West Coast kid struggling upon transitioning to the hustle and bustle of the opposite coast. Case in point, Long Beach, Calif. native Ryan Anderson announced Monday that he was transferring from Boston College with one year of eligibility remaining. “I really don’t think it really does matter even though there’s not a very good rate of success of going from west coast to east coast, but Kyron will adjust,” said Thomas. “His brother (Bryce) graduated from Iowa and that’s a long ways away.”

From the little I saw of the film he doesn't have Dwight Williams, Ricky Green type of otherworldly quicknees but he has better than av. speed. He can get in the lane quite easily and as long as he's careful with the kick out passes he should be good at freeing up people for mid range shots.
His wide open outside shot had decent form. If he can hit those at above 42% that's a plus.

This is where having God Shammgod and Andre LaFleur matters. These two will be working with Cartwright to get him ready for the first game. He is a good recruit. Lots of developing, but he will be in the right place to get better and play right away.
Glad to have someone who wants to be here and who is buying into the program.

This looks like a solid pickup. Hope Cooley has one more surprise up his sleeve but I like what we've got thus far.

His graduate assistant gig is up as he is set to graduate next month. Is there a spot for him? Is he moving on? I really hope we keep him.

Guessing that he's is open to, but not committed to staying... may be looking for best "fit" player development opportunity (College or NBA)

He was 'undergrad" coach, without a salary.
It has been a "win-win" situation for both sides up to now.
PC has gotten a young man who has really help the development of its players. He had ALOT to do with Cotton's development.Sham and his family have been appreciative of PC opening its arms and hearts to him and giving him a chance to get his degree and open some doors that would be closed to him without that sheepskin.
I really hope there is a way to work things out so his stays in Friartown.
