Silence has been deafening since the aau coach opined. Prevailing thought is Cooley pulls it off in possible meeting with Austin and Family.
Nobody knows and conventional wisdom says Cooley's Power of Persuasion is Off The Charts.
If I had to bet, I'd say not this time. Huge game-changer for next year and the pressure of recruiting plan ratches up.

Right or wrong, the fans will lay this one on Fr Shanley. The Friars Forever Fund might take a hit too.

It's over...
PROVIDENCE - In a perfect basketball world, Brandon Austin would be enjoying a homecoming this weekend with his Providence College Friar teammates.
Instead he is looking for another school to begin his collegiate career.
The Friars are playing at nationally ranked Villanova Sunday (7 p.m.) in their second Big East game but their choice recruit from Philadelphia's Imhotep Charter has decided to leave the program.
PC announced late Saturday that Austin has been released from his scholarship and will transfer to another school.
Austin, a national top 50 recruit, was suspended from playing in games for the remainder of the 2013-14 season on Dec. 23 after a violating the College's student Code of Conduct. The decision was rendered after Austin had left campus to go home for Christmas, limiting the chances Ed Cooley and his coaching staff had in keeping Austin's allegiances to the program strong. Austin has not returned since to rejoin the team for practice.
It is clear that the length of time it took PC administrators to come to a decision on Austin's case helped sour his relationship with the school. Rodney Bullock, another freshman basketball player, was involved in the same on-campus disciplinary incident as Austin but chose to return and practice with the Friars in preparation for next season.
Word from several Philadelphia basketball sources is that Austin's advisors were calling other schools early last month as PC's administration weighed its decision. Penn State, Oregon and Temple are a few of the schools being mentioned as potential landing spots.

Walk,
Jeez. If memory serves me correctly, didn't the "core" SuperFans tell us that Austin would not transfer? I thought he would never sit out another year? Another banner day in FriarTown.
Are we still the Kings of New England??

Unreal. Right or wrong, PC admin comes out of this looking bad, just as Keno did with Joe Young.

Has his handlers already guaranteed him that his waiver will be approved and he can play right away in the fall? ? What a bunch of BS...

Has his handlers already guaranteed him that his waiver will be approved and he can play right away in the fall? ? What a bunch of BS... IMHO he has an excellent chance of being granted a waiver. What would be reasons to deny him a waiver? Btw, are we already piling on his advisers? The very same advisers that steered him to PC?

I have some horrific news to report. B Austin is GONE!!! He's leaving school. No reasons or destinations given to me. If there were ever a time for the Nic Cage quote - "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger." This is it!
PS At least we now have that open scholarship for Alex Murphy.
