Playing well for Gonzaga with 15 in debut against Bryant and now has 12 at the break to lead his team against Colorado st. I couldn't help to notice one drive he had where he went baseline and the defender clearly beat him to the spot(it was a charge) but Coleman got the hoop and the foul. Nine out of ten times that call would have went against him during his time here.........the breaks

I wouldn't say he got away, he chose to leave the program. I don't think Ed was happy to see him leave.

One thing is for sure, he would be our starting SG right now and our backcourt rotation would still be pretty solid.

Maddening loss, made no sense (admittedly from thin evidence we see as fans). Would have been a HUGE part of this years puzzle and might well have been the difference maker last season given all our injury issues and the Ledo saga. But he's a kid (kind of) and I truly hope he prospers out west. One things for sure, we'd match anyone with our lefthandedness if he were still here.

i'm with you rock...cooley's improved the talent level but the day we lose a top 100 guy who averaged 30+ mins per game over his first two years and it not have an impact is a long way away....

He would have been a senior this year for us. I would agree he would have been a key part for this team.
Last nights line:
21 minutes, 16 points on 7-10 shooting, 2-3 FTs, 3 Rebs, 2 Assists, 1 TO, 1 block and 1 steal.
I noticed in the box score Zags played 7 Guards out of 11 that got into the game. they start a 3 guard lineup.
Zags won by 32

Obviously Coleman isn't going to maintain this level of efficiency when games become competitive but that's besides the point. He still would have been a huge help this year and last.

I would have liked for Coleman to have stayed and been happy with his role at PC.
Unfortunately, that was not to be.
PC would have kept him on board.

As far as I can tell, the only thing Cooley told him to do was to stop shooting the 3 which was a shot that he did not shoot well enough to be taking regularly, and maybe play some defense in the half court. Sometimes things work out for the better. Maybe Cotton doesn't have the great year he had last year if Coleman was still around. My feeling was that he had an overinflated view of his game and his entourage bolstered this. You don't raise your program to the next level, at least in a league as competitive as the Big East, with players who would be role players at best at good programs.

IMO it had nothing to do with him not buying in and all to do with PT. If Dunn, Ledo, and Cotton are all healthy and on the team Coleman would have been looking at 10-15mpg. IMO all the hype on Ledo & Dunn scared him and he wanted to make sure he wasn't gonna become a 10 minute reserve for his junior/senior seasons.
@ Greyfriar, that sure was one good looking role player I saw attacking the rim last night..

Not surprised he is doing well - he is a talent.
Most likely he was affected by the whole Keno Error + the Chris Driscoll mess. Then Coleman was asked to make adjustments from the new sheriff in town and he voted with his feet. Maybe he and Cooley never clicked and never would? Key question is had he stayed would he have been a key contributor? With his talent - sure but again there were those adjustments so who really knows?
He is now out at Gonzaga where he seems happy with the three guard offense that seems to suit his game.
Certainly do think much of what has been said here already is valid and agree the speculation is great fodder... as in what other differences/players would have been impacted with G Coleman on board?
