I'm sure we will hear about the "Kolek-less" Marquette team...but what about the Hopkins-less Friars squad?

I'm sure we will hear about the "Kolek-less" Marquette team...but what about the Hopkins-less Friars squad? I'm with you there -- completely. However, the concern that I have (which the committee will never admit) is ... do "they" want a Hopkins-less Friars team in the NCAAs? (Maybe a better way to phrase it is, does PC's full resume reflect their current roster, without Hopkins?) Does beating Marquette without Kolek persuade the committee? As for the Golden Eagles, they'll have Kolek back for the tournament. I really wish "we" had won one of those 'Nova games.

I’m in Europe and woke up to see the final score. Shocked, not shocked. But man, this is quite a win. Not sure it’s enough but it really is well-earned with all this program has had to contend with in the last 12 months. Rock, do you think PC beating a Kolek-less Marquette team seals the deal or will the Friars need to upset UConn in the final to ensure its seat? I’m far from knowledgeable when it comes to the selection committee but stack up our Q1/Q2 resume and include playing in the BE finals and that doesn’t spell NIT to me.

Marquette playing with more intensity especially on defense. Completely shutting down Carter and Oduro. We took 29 shots, 7 by Oduro/Carter and 22 by rest of team. Usually it’s the other way around. 2/13 from 3 by the supporting cast. Not doing it tonight.

It’s a steep hill to climb in the 2nd half just to make up the 11 point deficit besides trying to get and hold a lead. That while defending on tired legs. Some of those missed threes were good shots that were in and out and had a few fallen it would be a different game. May some fall for our Friars in the second half.

They got within 3. A valiant effort.
Thank you Friars for fighting in this game.
