It sounds as if there is an agreement in place to build a new Capital One Arena in Virginia...so, what will happen to Georgetown home games in the future? Nothing. It's not a new Capital One, as Capital One would still be around. It's just the Wizards/Capitals owner playing hardball to get renovations done at Capital One or else he'll move the teams to Alexandria. Remains to be seen what will be announced tomorrow. Sure sounds like, as you said, a deal is coming to fruition. But, either way, Georgetown would still be a tenant at Capital One.

Noting the fact that KenPom ranks teams from 1-362, here is the gauntlet that G'Town's run through to date...
L - TCU (38) L - Syracuse (96) W - Mt. St Mary's (245) W - Jackson State (260) W - Merrimack (261) W - American (290) L - Holy Cross (354) W - LeMoyne (357) W - Coppin State (361)
Ivan has to get a new Belt made up (King of Cupcakes) and present it to Brian Blaney.

pretty close to the schedule that many defended while he was at pc Yep. A Brian Blaney Special. Don't count me among the "defenders", Walk. While it's great to string together a bunch of wins vs. cupcakes, it does little to prepare a team for the BigEast Schedule. A few cupcakes can be expected for just about every HM. We'll have to see how prepared the Hoyas are as they take on mediocre ND squad and then roll ito the BigEast slate. Count me among those who figure that Ed and Company have no more than 3-4 Wins left in their tank this season.

We used to play an additional tough neutral game. Cooley stopped it after COVID.. or coincidentally after Florida blasted us. Florida, Miami, Houston games come to mind

Took him until Mid-January at the earliest. ....gotta love friartown...

Creighton blown out by an under.500 UNLV team.
Prospective… we have deficiencies, and even a KenPom’s top 8 team stumbles. 12-8…a realistic goal. Get there and in.

Early on, I'm sensing that this season's version of the BE isn't as dominant a conference as some may have projected a couple of months back.
- Marquette is looking every bit the power that was anticipated. - UConn has been dominant, although some would suggest that their schedule has been weak to date. - Creighton has incurred two, double-digit losses to Colorado State and UNLV - X's opportunity to make some noise was flushed when they lost two big men for the season. - PC was playing to form with a relatively weak schedule, up till the thrashing at Oklahoma. I need to see a few more samples of our offense against upcoming BE opponents before gauging this unit for myself. - SJU has not demonstrated the Pitino-up tick that pundits were expecting. More time may be needed before this group of players gel. - Nova is a head scratcher for me, winning against Texas Tech, UNC, and Memphis (and more recently UCLA), but dropping games against Penn, Drexel, St. Josephs (and a 1-point loss to KState) - Seton Hall is at 6-4, having won their games against lesser competition, but failing to win any games against the HM's on their schedule. - GTown and DePaul are dumpster fires

We need to get back to Wisci game shape. I'm hoping this is a blip in the advancement of JP due to the injury set back.
It took Oduro a few games to get into a flow after his ankle injury.

7th ranked MQ almost blows it at home to Summit league powerhouse St Thomas (MN), 218 kenpom. What did those rankings mean again? Hangs on 84-79, after lead was only 2 with a minute and a half left.
8th ranked Creighton blown out last night against UNLV. Don't think those rankings matter much either. Very very lame OOC for BE.
